When The Timing Is Right

Sometimes it can look like you are falling behind.

Your best friend gets their dream job while you are still flipping burgers. Your crush graduates college with their second degree while you struggle to finish the first. Uncle Roscoe brags about his retirement when you're barely out of the starting gate. Cousin Kelsey gets married first and makes a big deal about it for months. Ben and Chloe's youngest kid is five now and you haven't even found the love of your life yet.

Or maybe you don't even look at other people's lives.

Maybe you hold yourself to a measuring stick of success, accomplishment or set of goals you imposed on yourself. Maybe by now you thought you'd be further along.

Skinnier. Stronger. Making more money. Graduated by now. Skating through that next business deal. Deliriously in love. Not as stressed. Not as tired. Enjoying a bigger house or newer car. Further along in your job. Getting your kid to sleep through the night. Eating edible cookie dough on the beach in the shade (okay, I threw that last one in there for fun).

Never forget that, if you do your best every day to be the best you that you can be, if you stay diligent when you are tempted to be lazy and happy when you are encouraged by the world around you to be sad, and if you can learn to choose to be content right where you are on the way to where you are going...

When the timing is right, it will happen.
